Get to know the neighbors, and build a sense of community, so hopefully people will learn to watch each other's back.

I would make it more safe by hosting events in the community, inviting organizations that can inform people of safety issues, what to do when we see a crime happens etc. Education and knowledge is key!

Turn every block in the neighborhood into a gated community. Not allowing anybody in unless they live on the block. Guest have to be checked in at the entrance to each block. Keeping out the undesirables.

I would make it like it was when we were growing up. Everybody in the neighborhood knew each other. It was the neighborhood raising kids not just kids raising kids. Before you made it home your parents already knew what you did. Neighbors had parties together, one big family. Everyone looked after each other, you didn't have to worry about who and what your neighbors were doing.

Be sure to patrol between 2 and 3 pm, when many attacks seem to occur.
