One time my dog ran away, and I walked deep into the woods looking for her until like 2AM. I remember hearing something really big move in the bushes, and I called her name. Then I just smelled some kind of beast. I abandoned my search at that moment. haha.

She showed up the next day.

There is an old military institution that is now a junior college. Many of the buildings are reported to be haunted. One summer when the college was practically vacant I was walking across the field in front of the men's dorm. As I walked and my feet rustled through the fallen pine leaves, I hear footsteps right behind me. I stopped and looked but there was no one there so I continued to walk. Once again I hear footsteps behind me. Next I stopped but did not look around. The footsteps stopped. I am now frightened because I think a ghost is behind me. I continue to walk and after I passed the dorm the footsteps stopped. I could hear the footsteps & see the grass move as if the ghost was headed back to the dorm. I then ran in the opposite direction.

When I lived in London - I had to go home late every night and the shortest route home required a 10 minute walk down a fenced-in path cutting through a very, very old cemetery. The kind with above-ground graves and large headstones with broken-winged angels on them. Only one-way in and one-way out for over a half of a mile. To top that off - suspicious drunks would often ramble through - crows were all around and foxes would squeeze through the fences on their way criss-crossing through the graves.

Growing up, I lived across the street from my grandfather. He lived alone in this old 3-story home and I was sure it was haunted. My father made me go over there one night at dusk and call him to supper. I got about half way and saw him looking out the window. I beckoned for him to come and then ran back home. He didn't come and my dad went over to see what was wrong. He said that I had not been over or else he hadn't seen me. My dad gave me a spanking for lying to him. I didn't lie; perhaps it was the ghost that I motioned to.

The Philippine jungle at night was by far the creepiest place I have ever been. The bats were the size of cats with 6 foot wing spans.

When I was a teenager living in Fayetteville, NC, a group of us went to see the Maco Light late at night. It is between Fayetteville and Wilmington. The story says a a conductor jumped off the engine car when it got separated from the others. Little did he know there was another train coming behind him when he went behind the train to somehow reconnect them. He saw the upcoming train and tried to get them to stop by waiving his lantern. They didn't see it and the train collided with his train decapitating him.
We saw the floating light over the track, which is supposed to be Joe, the conductor still flagging down the other train! Very earie!!

The delapidated house my parents bought after I went to college. The doors slam on their own and you can hear foot steps upstairs when there is no one up there.

A shack in the middle of the woods. We saw the cow, but never saw the people who lived there.

My grandmas attic is creepy as heck. She keeps a weird porclelin doll collection and it's dark and gloomy. The dolls are just crazy looking. Looks like they're watching you.

There's an abandoned school near our house which gives me the creeps because it always looks like there are shadows of people inside when we pass it but supposedly no one is there.

I think my father's garage is creepy. There's a freezer chest with Unidentifiable raw meat and lots of stuffed animals...and by stuffed I mean taxidermy stuff.

There is a house just across the street from me that the kids won't go near. A guy committed suicide and the family that lived there next was convinced the house was haunted. They ended up moving out after only about a year. The house is still up for sale.

I worked at an amusement park during 3rd shift (12am-8am). Theres a building that is rumored to have been the site of a few deaths. Patrolling that building one day, I heard voices, searched, couldn't find anything so I left. I looked back and saw a young female child's face in the window. Later, a few of the guys I work with would tell me she was one of the ones who died there, and that several of them had seen her over the years. Very creepy.
