SDCC ’12: ‘DREDD’ Review – Justice has Finally been served
While preview night at SDCC was a bust, the night did not end in disappointment. Lionsgate ha a special screening of the upcoming film Dredd, which is a reboot of the 1994 stinker that featured Sylvester Stallone. While I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the film, I’m glad to say that Lionsgate did a hell of a job with this version and brought the Judge Dredd people loved from the comics to the big screen.

SDCC ’12: Twilight Panel….Um Yeah and First look at ‘The Host'
The panel consisted of your typical members:, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart , and creator Stephanie Meyer. Also attending the panel was Bella and Edward’s child Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy, The Cullen Clan which consisted of Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, and Elizabeth Reaser. Also, at the end of the panel, they brought out a bunch of people from the different Vampire Clans in the film but there were so many I had no clue who they were.

SDCC ’12: Disney - Frankenweenie Panel and New Trailer
The second Panel in Hall H on Thursday was the Disney one which featured three of their upcoming films, Frankenweenie, Oz The Great and Powerful and Wreck-it Ralph. I have divided them up into three seperate posts since there is just so much to talk about.

SDCC ’12: Oz The Great and Powerful Panel and Trailer
Next up was Sam Raimi‘s latest film, Oz The Great and Powerful which stars James Franco in the titular role. The film is about a man and how he became the wizard we know from The Wizard of Oz. Once he gets to Oz he realizes that he has a second chance in life and has the opportunity to become less selfish.

SDCC ’12: CZ12 (Chinese Zodiac) Panel – Jackie Chan’s final Major Action film – Talks about Expendable Offer Too!
I know Alex was excited to know CZ12 would be doing a panel this year but I have heard nothing about it. Luckily, Jackie Chan is hilarious and always a treat to see live.

SDCC ’12: Wreck-it Ralph, Skrillex to Score Some Songs…and Oh yeah, and The Lone Ranger Footage
The final film of the Disney panel (before the surprise) was the animated film Wreck-it Ralph, based off the 8-bit video game. In attendance was director Rich Moore who spoke a bit about the film and also brought 10 minutes of footage of the film with him to screen for the audience. Also in attendence were John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman. Moore announced that the individual providing the musical soundtrack of the Hero’s Duty would be Skrillex.

SDCC ’12: ‘Kick Ass 2′ to start Filming in September
During the Paranorman panel, an audience member asked Christopher Mintz-Plasse what’s the current status of Kick Ass 2. He was a bit hesitant to respond but he did say things are moving along and that they plan to begin shooting sometime in September. He didn’t say anything else, however this was pretty big news.
